"Firmware" is the type of software that is on your helmet and controller. Your Helmet has three types of firmware; CPU firmware, Bluetooth Firmware and Camera Firmware. The controller has one type. When Forcite releases new features or bug fixes, they occasionally require a firmware update to one or more systems to work.
To update your firmware, first connect your helmet or controller and go to Settings > Helmet > Firmware Update.
You will now be able to see the most up to date firmware available for your devices. If a firmware update is available, you will be presented with an "Update" button.
Please note that in app version 1.3.2 for iOS, firmware updates are not yet available.
As of 16/03/21, there has been one helmet firmware update (0.46.22) which only enables Auto-record. This update shipped with 90% of our helmets, from December 2020 onwards. If your auto-record feature is available, or you do not want to use auto-record, then you do not need to update your helmet at this time.
If you are using iOS and would like to use Auto-record, yet it is greyed out in settings, please check your helmet's CORE firmware version. If it is 0.46.20, then you have two options; You may use an android device to connect to your helmet and flash the new firmware version, or get in touch with forcite support (see "Submit a Request" above) and we'll help you out.
